The Event

The switch-on of the Oxford Street Christmas lights kicks off the festive season in London, and you can expect a fantastic party atmosphere with live music and entertaining performances. The tradition of the annual Oxford Street Christmas Lights began in 1959. The celebrity switcher for 2008 has not yet been announced. In the past, the festive deed has been done by the likes of Bob Geldof, Charlotte Church, Ronan Keating and the Spice Girls. Last year, singing sensation Leona Lewis did the honours. Chart-toppers Westlife also appeared on stage and the cast of Mary Poppins delighted the crowd with a special performance.

Our Involvement

1 x 5×4, 20 sqm Lighthouse R16 LED screen was flown from a ground support to form the backdrop to the stage and increase viewing for the stage show and live camera action.
